Artist Profile John Bunce HS, SLm.
John is a representational artist painting Miniatures and small watercolours. His inspiration is drawn from the landscape, nature and travel.
He has been elected a full exhibiting member of
The Hilliard Society of Miniaturists (HS) and
The Society of Limners, Miniaturists & Calligraphers (SLm)
For the past 8 years John has had his Miniature paintings accepted by The Royal Miniature Society and hung in their annual exhibition in the Mall Galleries in London.
John has Miniature watercolour paintings in a number of Private Collections. For example he has 5 paintings, shown opposite, in the Sue Lee Collection. John's painting 'Hot air Rising' bottom right, won the Chairman's award in the Society of Limners annual Exhibition.
John is also an active member of a number local Art Societies and Groups including Woking Society of Arts and Guildford Art Society and regularly exhibits in their annual exhibitions. He has been editor of the WSA newsletter for the past 10 years.
He also coordinates an exhibiting group of local artists, North Surrey Artists, comprising both professional and experienced amateur artists who are largely from three of Surrey's leading Art Societies - Farnham, Guildford and Woking.
John is also a keen flyfisherman who creates his own flies from fur and feather. Another miniature art form.
